Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2010
This year the recession has hit hard on some designers and Yohji Yamamoto was no exception. Instead of the usual runway show, the latest Spring 2010 collection was shown in a showroom presentation.
The collection featured signature Yohji Yamamoto styles – structural-like and oversized with the usual black and indigo blue colours. The collection may as well represent the current gloom and doom of the world’s economy with its simple and oversized designs. Looking at the entire collection, you’ll see a hint of depression-era style 50′s fashion mix in with a bit of grudge and punk. Simple yet has its own message across.
Perhaps the next collection for Fall will be a little bit cheery?
